Every day, we deliver more than just food. At no cost to participants, Meals on Wheels provides nutritious meals, wellness checks, and a vital link to community for older adults and individuals with disabilities throughout northern Illinois.
Who We Serve
More than 450,000 seniors in Illinois face food insecurity. Meals on Wheels helps delay the need for long-term care or assisted living by supporting participants where they thrive best—at home. We serve:
- Age 60 or older
- The spouse of an eligible participant, regardless of age
- Individuals with disabilities living with an eligible older adult
- Individuals with disabilities in qualifying senior housing communities
How It Works
Safe, reliable delivery Monday through Friday.
We deliver hot, nutritious meals directly to our clients' doors five days a week. Delivery drivers provide a friendly check-in, which helps monitor wellness and reduce feelings of isolation. Each meal is designed to support healthy aging and meet daily nutritional needs.
There is no cost to receive meals. Participants are invited to make a voluntary contribution, but no one is ever denied service based on their ability, or willingness, to pay.
